Make Learning Stick with New Video Lessons and Games
Lesson Content Games have arrived!
We’re excited to introduce a brand-new game type on the Breakout EDU Digital Platform. Each standards-aligned Lesson Content Game begins with a short video lesson followed by a series of puzzles designed to reinforce key concepts. This format gives students the chance to immediately apply what they’ve learned by solving puzzles, while providing teachers with a powerful tool to assess understanding and reinforce learning.
Just in time for the new school year, we’ve launched Lesson Content Games for two subjects: First Grade Reading and Fourth Grade Math. These subjects were chosen based on teacher feedback, reflecting what educators using Breakout EDU told us they were most interested in. Each subject features a set of scoped and sequenced games to start, and we’re excited to continue launching more games. Our aim is to be content complete for both of these subjects by the end of the school year.
FIRST GRADE READING
The First Grade Reading Lesson Content Games cover reading curriculum concepts like syllables, vowels, and identifying parts of a story. Start with a quick video then assess retention by playing a fun game independently or as a class!
FOURTH GRADE MATH
Challenge your fourth graders to these Lesson Content Games about multiplication, division, and symmetry. Students will love the quick video to freshen up their content knowledge before trying to breakout!
MORE UPDATES, MORE POSSIBILITIES
The new school year updates to the Breakout EDU digital platform don’t stop there! The Game Design Studio has gotten very exciting upgrades, making it even easier to create and customize games to your classroom’s needs.
Teachers of any grade level can now make their own Lesson Content Games by adding your own lessons or introductory videos to the start of any Breakout EDU digital game! When you build your own games or edit existing Breakout EDU games in the Game Design Studio, you’re now going to see an “Other Content” menu. Choose from a variety of new content types to append to your game including Google Slides presentation, PDF, audio file, or a video. Then simply assign it to your class to create an effortless and gamified way to introduce, assess, or review content knowledge. We’ve also added an option here for your videos to be hosted internally in addition to the option to embed from YouTube or Vimeo.
And one more update that’s not to be missed: The Adobe Express integration within the Game Design Studio has been upgraded. Design with Adobe Express from within the Breakout EDU platform and unlock creativity like never before with enhancements like the addition of generative AI features.
We’re so excited to see what you’ll create with these powerful tools!
