4 Lock-tober Activities That Are So Fun, It’s Scary

Join us for Lock-tober, a month-long Breakout EDU celebration!

The leaves may be falling faster than the temperature, but fall is definitely here! Classroom routines are (almost) established, pumpkins and cornstalks adorn doorsteps, and students can’t stop asking, “are we going to have a Halloween party?!” Fear not! Breakout EDU is here to make you a hallway hero with these fa-boo-lous fall activities.

1. Lock of the Day stories

Did you know that October is the one-year anniversary of Breakout’s Lock of the Day? It sure has been a success with over 4 million Lock of the Day plays! To celebrate, we are kicking it up a notch to serve you with themed puzzles to warm up students' brains during this chilly month.

If you are new to using Lock of the Day (welcome to the community 👋!), these five-minute puzzles are perfect for use as bell ringers, warm-ups, exit tickets, or brain breaks. Intentionally designed to be challenging, collaborative, and nonintrusive on valuable instructional time, these kooky, spooky locks follow a storyline each week for the entire month of October!

Did you know you can have Lock of the Day show up in your students’ accounts automatically?

2. Avatar costume party

In case you missed it, Breakout EDU now offers customizable avatars to personalize Teacher and Student experiences!

During the month of October, all Breakout EDU users can dress up their avatars any way they wish - astronauts, sea monsters, vampires, chefs, and even… zombies! Watch students’ eyes light up and listen to their giggles as they dress up their avatars in creative ways.

Learn more about how to access your avatar below.
