Level up your teaching game with Breakout EDU at ISTE Live 24 in Denver, Colorado, from June 23rd to 26th! Our team will transform Booth #2057 into an action-packed arcade filled with educational gaming experiences designed to supercharge teaching and learning.
We invite you to step right up into our vibrant arcade in between sessions to meet and mingle with our expert team. Breakout EDU’s Adam Bellow, Mark Hammons, Patti Harju, Ann Brucker, and Patti Duncan are excited to talk about educational gaming strategies and let educators experience first-hand the transformative power of Breakout EDU’s games and features!
The team will be handing our special edition arcade tokens that can be used to play Breakout EDU games right on the exhibition floor. Put your teamwork and critical thinking skills to the test while you collaborate with fellow educators to solve challenges. Our beloved mascot Witty is getting a new look for back-to-school, and ISTE attendees will be the first to get a sneak peek and have a chance to take a photo with Witty! Of course we will also be handing out fun prizes - including awesome new Witty plushies!

Hands on at ISTE
Reboot your energy at ISTE by stopping by Booth #2057 to experience an energizing boost of brain power! We’ll have our daily digital puzzles, called Lock of the Day, available for all to play. These activities are designed to be completed in under 5 minutes making them perfect for bellringers, exit tickets, or brain breaks. This is a quick, dynamic way to tackle diverse areas of content.
We will also be unveiling a new Breakout+ adventure to try! ISTE attendees will be the first to get an exclusive look at our newest adventure, “Arcade Escape: the Quest for Conundrum”. Breakout+ games are immersive point-and-click adventures that transport students into different worlds filled with captivating storylines, heart-pounding sound effects, and thought-provoking challenges. Similar to an escape room, students must navigate the digital space, collect clues, collaborate with peers, and level up their knowledge to complete the mission!

This year, we've been busy crafting exciting new features to enhance your Breakout EDU experience and we’re excited to put the controller in your hands at ISTE so you can experience the fun for yourself! Here are a few of the latest features we look forward to sharing:
Student Gamification: Motivation just got a major upgrade! Our student gamification feature keeps students engaged and excited by presenting them with challenges to complete. As they conquer these challenges, they level up from "Explorer" to the coveted "Lockstar" status! Completing Learn & Play modules, customizing avatars, and conquering Lock of the Day streaks are just a few ways students can climb the ranks and unlock awesome rewards like special edition backgrounds and avatar customizations.
Student Badges: Celebrate student achievements in critical areas! Teachers can now award badges to recognize students for demonstrating essential 4Cs and SEL skills during Breakout EDU games. Badges serve as a powerful motivator and provide valuable feedback on student growth and participation in these crucial areas.
Carousel Games: Get ready for a thrilling new twist! Carousel games introduce a fresh take on digital games. Unlike traditional Breakout EDU games where clues are linked to specific locks, Carousel Games present students with a pool of clues and a set of lock types. Students must strategically match the clues to the corresponding lock types, flexing their critical thinking muscles and collaborating to find the perfect fit.

While you’re at ISTE having fun, don't miss out on these insightful presentations by Breakout EDU's Director of Advocacy & Engagement, Patti Duncan:
"Light the Spark of Student Creation with Puzzle and Game Design!" This session will allow attendees to experience the game design process as a “student” - from iteration to final product in this interactive working session highlighting Adobe Express and Breakout EDU. Patti will show attendees how putting students in the driver's seat transforms them from game-players to game-makers when they take ownership of their learning.
"Tech Tools and Strategies for Developing, Honing and Fostering the 4C's" In this session, Patti dives deep into the power of technology in cultivating the essential 21st-century skills – collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. To develop these essential skills, students need continued practice integrated into their lessons on a regular basis. Patti will take attendees on a deep dive into AR/VR, gamification, puzzle problem-solving, and reflection tools to help create a mindset that works!
