As we embark on a new year, many educators are looking for ways to escape the screen time binge from the break and bring the excitement of collaboration back to the classroom.

Our kit-based games are the perfect tool to get kids active and engaged after weeks of being away from school.

For nearly seven years, classrooms around the world have played Breakout EDU kit games to engage, collaborate, problem-solve and deepen connections.

What are Breakout EDU Kits?

Breakout EDU Kits are physical boxes that include everything you need to play Breakout EDU kit-based games found in our Breakout EDU Game Library. A kit includes five locks, a hasp, and other tools such as a red lens viewer, and a UV flashlight which are all used to solve puzzles during games.

Upon finding a game that suits your needs, you’ll need to go through a brief setup process to transform your classroom into an engaging experience full of unique collaborative puzzles that students solve to open the box. The Breakout EDU Kit is designed to create a unique escape room experience right inside of your class, as students work together to ‘Breakout’!

Boost Engagement

The only way to successfully ‘Breakout’ is through hands-on teamwork! Breakout EDU Kit-based games challenge students to collaborate and actively apply their critical thinking skills to ask questions, analyze clues, and solve the puzzles. Watch students come alive as they immerse themselves in the problem-solving challenges. Classroom interactions improve as students learn to effectively communicate to solve the mystery in the kit!

Tips & Tricks

The experience of playing a kit-based game can be so fun and rewarding for everyone, but sometimes the hardest part is to NOT offer help when the learners are struggling with locks. Here are some other tips that our community has shared as key takeaways.

  • Stay as silent as possible… Watch them struggle and encourage them to collaborate on new ways to open the locks.

  • When a lock is opened, take possession of the lock or use the lot parking lot. Don’t make them fidget spinners while they solve the next puzzle.

  • Make the most of the reflection activity… having the students reflect on the experience will give you great tools to apply to other skills in the classroom.
